With a culture of unprecedented growth, quality, and innovative collaboration, we are seeking personalities to complement our attributes.Posting Notice/More Info.JOB FUNCTIONThe VP, Development is responsible for managing distinct investment activities that preserve and enhance real estate assets in the rainy-day funds of the Church. This position exists to assist with managing the direct development efforts of the department, specifically new construction/remodel projects globally.RESPONSIBILTIES* Assists with directing the design of the new development projects to ensure compliance to standard plan, core features, and specifications* Monitors structural and technical adequacy of design/construction practices* Manages the performance of contracted project architects and consultants* Ensures that architectural planning is done in a professional manner and in accordance with local government requirements by constantly reviewing plans, drawings and specifications with architects and other involved parties* Provides information concerning building projects to management and ecclesiastical leaders by keeping accurate project files, attending review boards and other meetings, and producing periodic reports as needed* Helps control building project costs by working with Project Managers and Architects in establishing and adhering to budgets* Assist in overseeing all direct development projects, both within Utah and globally* Control building project costs by working with Project Managers and Architects in establishing and adhering to budgets* Support broader team and contribute to strategic projects* Contribute to the improvement of existing processes and promote the adoption of best practices as related to the above duties and responsibilities* Perform other essential duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES* Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy* Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, economics, or related field required; MBA, MRED or other related master’s degree strongly preferred* CCIM or CFA certification preferred* 10+ years of commercial real estate experience required* Strong applicable experience in property transactions* Proven ability to make effective decisions in response to changes in real estate markets* Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills* Strong understanding of financial concepts with time value of money* Excellent working knowledge of real estate finance, economics, market analysis, financial statements, and applicable markets* Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, both oral and written* Proven ability to establish successful client relationships with key brokers, architects, developers, and institutional property owners.* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and execute a wide range of assignments* Strong work ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit; passion for excellence and desire to learn* Accuracy and attention to detail–fastidious* Ability to prioritize assignments to meet numerous deadlines* Travel required
