Our employees are not only part of history, they’re making history.Propulsion Systems is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing or Process Engineer to work as the Ammonium Perchlorate (AP) Value Stream Element Team (VSET) Lead for the Promontory Value Stream at our Promontory Utah campus.

Role description & Responsibilities:Under the direction of the Promontory Value Stream Director, leads a specific element or product family within a value stream.

Is responsible for delivering a product family through overall ownership and accountability of that product’s value stream including: acceptance of requirements, material acceptance, product and process design, planning generation, product manufacture, inspection, acceptance and delivery to the downstream customer to meet cost and schedule requirements.Works closely with the functional organizations (e.G.

Design, S& MA, Process Engineering,Supply Chain, and Operations) to effectively and efficiently lead and staff the team as required.

Manages and ensures effective concurrent engineering through the oversight and integration of all engineering and processing disciplines.

Requests, acquires, and manages resources within a matrix organization as necessary to accomplish the goals of the value stream.

Closely interfaces with program managers to insure we meet their needs and the needs of our customers.The VSET leader is responsible for total team performance and works closely with the program office and plant functional organizations to accomplish program and company goals.The VSET leader’s primary focus is the design and safe manufacture of a defect free, highest value product that satisfies every customer requirement by focusing on and effectively integrating all elements and disciplines of the associated value stream.AP VSET Lead Charter: Responsible for delivering AP products through overall ownership and accountability of the value stream including: acceptance of requirements, product and process design, planning generation, product manufacture, inspection, acceptance and delivery to the downstream customer to meet cost and schedule requirementsJob Duties: Provide overall leadership and coordination of efforts across all processing elements within the AP Enterprise (M722 SP Electrolysis, M721 AP Wetcake, M705 AP Crystallization, and M573/M174A Blending/Drying) Drive sustainable improvements to Operational Availability and Operational Efficiency Ability to effectively manage a demanding workload with frequently competing objectives and an aggressive AP delivery schedule Consult with functional organizational leadership for effective deployment of their resources Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of technically compliant AP within budget to both internal and external customers Real-time collaboration with key stakeholders: Leadership, Operations, Program, Process Engineering, Infrastructure, Quality, Labs, and Supply Chain groups Facilitation of Escalation, Tier, and SCRUM meetings 24/7 problem escalation and resolution support Key enabler to develop and deploy Continuous Improvement A3s Coordination of MRB and C/CA activities Development and approval of Capital Appropriation Requests Coordinated execution of maintenance activities, IRAD, and Capex projects Assist Program with allocation of authorized direct budget and quarterly financial disclosure statements Detailed scheduling and execution of blended AP deliveries Management of internal WIP inventory system, including reporting Oversight of SPC program and real-time process data visualization Oversight of AP spare parts program Ownership of all cross-utilization requests and renewals Facilitation of Process Owner Reviews and Build Readiness Reviews Management of raw materials and end-item materials movement and storage Coordination and verification of Safety and Environmental compliance All design, reliability, safety, performance, cost and schedule requirements The safety of personnel, facilities and product through the development and manufacturing lifecycle Control of produced and procured designs, processes, suppliers, materials, facilities, inspection plans, and tooling.

Managing financial performance of the value stream and its functional organizations.

This includes tracking, reviewing and approval of PCR’s as needed for submittal to the Program Office.

Initiate and lead value enhancement and waste elimination efforts for all aspects of the component value stream utilizing PES principles for continuous improvementJob Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering technology, or Chemistry (advanced degree in engineering and/or business management a plus) required with 2 years of experience, or an MS.O Position may be filled at a higher level requiring:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering technology, or Chemistry (advanced degree in engineering and/or business management a plus) required with 5 years of experience, or an MS with 3 years of experience Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels within an organization Ability to drive change that improves safety, quality, and operational performancePreferred Experience: Degree in Engineering or Chemistry, prefer Chemical Engineering Previous experience in a chemical processing environment Master of Business Administration or relevant business experience Experience with CostPoint, AssetSmart, EMS, SharePoint, Maximo, ESI/ePIC, Statistica, Nautilus, SmartSolve, Microsoft Power BI, Visual Basic, SQL, SQL Report Builder, Microsoft ProjectSalary Range: 70528 105792Salary Range 2: 87400 131100Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
