Job Title: Shop Manager Department: ShopReports To: Vice President of Plant OperationsSupervisory Responsibilities: All production personnelPosition Description: The Shop Manager is responsible for all Shop activities such as the supervision of all production employees, preventative maintenance, and compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations.Duties and Responsibilities: Implements production policies and proceduresSchedules and prioritizes assigned production jobs as directed by the VP of Plant Management.Manages Shop personnel to achieve project goals.Identifies training opportunities to improve Shop operations.Attends production/quality meetingsAttends annual Quality Management Team meetings to discuss Shop operations.

Qualification/Skills: Management experience.Communication skills.Knowledge of production positions, procedures and processes.Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations.Ability to read and understand blueprints.Attentive to detail.Organization skills.Results driven and goal oriented.

Education Requirements Successful completion of a two-year technical program or a degree from a four-year college or university program.

Experience Requirements Ten (10) years experience in metal fabrication.Three (3) years of fabrication experience must be as a supervisor or manager.Education requirements may be waived if sufficient experience and knowledge are demonstrated.

Training Requirements This position requires at least two (2) hours of training annually.Training subjects will promote and support the qualifications and skills noted above.
